Forest Hill Riesling 2025

Forest Hill Riesling 2025

  • TASTING NOTE: "A pretty riesling, soft textured, with lemon oil and mandarin juice, some blood orange elements, touches of floral perfume and faint Turkish delight in there, too. A little sweetness leads the wine, but feels just so with the brittle acidity. Good refreshment factor; strong riesling character. It works a treat in its simple, up-and-down way." 93 Points - Mike Bennie, Halliday
  • ABOUT THE WINE: Sourced mostly from the old Block 2 vineyard combined with some younger fruit from the Highbury Fields site. Mostly whole-bunch pressed, with a small amount of lees contact for added complexity.
  • ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Forest Hill Vineyard has a unique place in the history of Western Australia’s wine industry, being the first cool climate vineyard planted in the state in 1965 as an experiment by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture. The original vineyard was planted with Riesling and Cabernet cuttings sourced from the Houghton's property in the Swan Valley. The property was purchased by the Lyons family in 1996 who embarked on a program to rejuvenate the old vineyards and plant appropriate new ones.
